The story behind the picture is inspired by the Third Reichs interest in mysticism and the mythical Spear of Destiny.
Painted in Photoshop with a Wacom. Looked at some (own) reference for the buildings + some for the spear and gun.
Thanks for watching and I hope you like it =)

A painting that's been gathering dust for a while. Painted as a gift for my brother on his 30th birthday. Inspired by the Norwegian coat of arms (anyone with a Norwegian passport, check out the front , although alot of artistic liberties were taken. Designing and painting the shield probably took the longest.
Preliminary sketches with pencil, inks and paper where done before scanning those in and painting in Photoshop. My first attempt at a bigger scale painting. Final image is 6000 pixels in height.
Submitted for Expose 5. Hope you like it

Personal project, done over a few days last summer.
The painting started out as a small and rough pencildoodle, a concept design for the helmet.
It was then scanned, expanded and fleshed out in Photoshop.

This painting had the honour of being chosen for inclusion in Ballistic Publishing
excellent artbook "Exposè 5", which I am extremely grateful for. Many thanks to the advisory board
and to mr. Lehtiniemi for inspiring words etc etc

Satan I

Hello everyone,
here's my first take on a painting of the evil one himself: Satan, in all his unholy glory, or at least one side of it.
I wanted the painting to have energy and a sense of mystery to it, almost a religious feel, and some symbolism (which I won't go into.. I'll leave that to your interpretation =).
Painted in Photoshop (with a wacom) over the period of a week. I sketched some very basic studies for the poses with pencil on paper which I scanned in, just to have something to start with (I find it easier to work from something other than a digital blank canvas). Mostly round brush and the chalk brush, but also some custom brushes for the smaller textures. Final image is about 7000 pixels in height.
Hope the image is to your liking =)
C&C + questions are very much welcome.

Illustration for a University project, based on one out of many
booktitles I was given to choose from.

Painted in Photoshop, with some scanned-in pencil sketches as base. The dog is abit of a culmination of dogbreeds I find
interesting which I thought would represent this wonderful
species nicely =)
The painting turned into quite a (fun) technical exercise, as I tried to push for a somewhat realistic feel to the picture, but without any background, almost like vignetted 3d rendering.
Final picture is about 6000 pixels wide.

Hope you find it enjoyable.
